This Fair is held in April, in combination with Verona
Vinitaly (thanks to a partnership with Ente Fiera di Verona and it
offers the opportunity to present the whole panorama of national cheeses
and , at the same time, promote the historic-artistic treasures in
town, by choosing local buildings as temporary seats for the
events. The Fair offers manufacturers, tour operators and consumers the
possibility to get into contact with each other.
The name "Mille e
due formaggi" recalls the peculiar characteristics of the Mantuan Province,
where production of the two most typical cheeses - Grana Padano
and Parmigiano Reggiano – takes place. Several special
events are included. These are organised in cooperation with Slow Food, such as
tastings and meetings. The aim is also to shed light on the many rare and
unknown Italian cheeses, often connected to regional production only, giving
visitors hints on how to recognise the different peculiarities and best
combinations.
